Te āheinga: The opportunity

We are looking for a Resource Consent Planner to support the Resource Consents Manager in efficiently and effectively administering the Resource Management Act 1991.

Nga Kawenga me nga Mahi: Responsibilities and Duties

The Resource Consent Planner will:

  • Ensure applications for consent under the Resource Management Act are processed efficiently with a focus on delivering a high degree of customer service while meeting Council’s corporate, community and legislative requirements.
  • An integrated service is provided to Resource Consent applicants in relation to any other consents required under the Building Act, Environmental Health legislation or other permits required under Council’s bylaws.
  • Work collaboratively and develop a rapport with local communities across the South Waikato District.
  • Research and coordinate the application of new knowledge in the area of resource consenting.
  • Prepare reports, agenda items and minutes as required.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with:

  • Qualification and/or relevant experience in planning, resource consenting, or other relevant discipline.
  • Current valid Driver’s Licence
  • Demonstrative decision-making skills and keyboard proficiency and strong Microsoft Office Skills.
